About Us

I.T. Motorcyles is an independent motorcycle and scooter dealer owned and run by Ian Thorneycroft.

Ian started in the motorcycle trade in 1996 at a large main dealer where he had worked through the years to a senior level technician and received in-depth factory training from some of the top motorcycle manufactures. 

In 2004 Ian started work at a Honda dealership where he received further training and was qualified up to a Diagnostic Level, Ian also held a full VOSA MOT licence and carried out MOT’s for the dealership.

Unfortunately due to the economic climate the dealer lost the Honda franchise and was forced to close, making all staff redundant.

Having had aspirations in the past of running his own business Ian felt that with his wealth of knowledge and experience now was an ideal time to go it alone, and in January 2012 he established I.T. Motorcycles.

Starting from scratch we have steadily built up the business and through hard work and dedication the business continues to have an ever growing customer base, with the majority of new customers being referred to us through word-of-mouth from happy customers. We see this as a testament to the good name and reputation the company has established and continues to maintain.

We would like to thank all our customers for spreading the good name of the company and look forward to welcoming many new customers in the future.

Motorcycle or Scooter Registration, Frame Number, Mileage and Colour code details

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

·         You have booked your vehicle in for work to be undertaken

We use the information that you have given us in order to Keep a record of what work was carried out on your vehicle and to contact you when that work is complete

(a) Your consent. You are able to remove your consent at any time. You can do this by contacting us by phone or email

(b) We have a contractual obligation.

(c) We have a legal obligation.

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored on our computer and pen drives.

We keep Name, Address, email, phone/mobile numbers and bike details for 7 years. We will then dispose your information by deleting records off our computer and pen drives.

Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
